The international symposium “Creative Consciousness”
The University of Osaka Nakanoshima Art Center
中之島芸術センターでは学内外の研究者や機関と共同研究を行い、分野を超えて芸術や創造にまつわる諸問題を追求しています。とりわけ、センターの芸術共創研究部門ミッションにおいては、自然科学系研究者および芸術学研究者との共同研究や共同制作を行いながら、新しい研究領域を開拓することを目標としています。この活動の一環として、創造的意識を探究する国内外・学内外の研究者と議論を交わします。登壇者による作品展示も実施いたします。
The University of Osaka Nakanoshima Art Center conducts collaborative research with researchers and institutions both within and outside the university, pursuing issues related to art and creativity across disciplines. In particular, the Center’s Art Co-creation Research Division Mission aims to pioneer new research fields through collaborative research and co-production with researchers in the natural sciences and arts studies. As part of this activity, we engage in discussions with researchers from within and outside the university, both domestically and internationally, who explore creative consciousness. Exhibitions of art works by the presenters will also be held.
［概要］
AI全盛の時代、情報として規格化されたものが、計算され、ネットワークを流れ、それによって「世界」や、「わたし」までもが構成されている、と説明されつつあります。そうなのでしょうか。情報や計算の外側には、マテリアルがあり、身体があり、行為があります。むしろそれらが情報や計算を支えながら協働して、創造を実現しているのではないか。そのような、不断の創造という視角から、「主観」や「芸術」を考えてみたい。本シンポジウムは、そういった思考を世界に向けて発信する場として開催されます。

[Overview]
In this age of AI supremacy, it is increasingly explained that standardized information is computed, flows through networks, and thereby constructs even the “world” and the “self.” Is that really the case? Beyond information and computation lie materiality, the body, and action. Might it not be that these elements collaborate to support information and computation, thereby realizing creation? We propose considering subjectivity, computation, and art through this lens of perpetual creation. This symposium serves as a gathering place for such individuals to come together and share their perspectives with the world.
